Fruits of the season , right here in Wisconsin in abundance too!
I am amazed to think that people believe that our fruits have to come from far away places and only found in your grocery store. But here in Wisconsin it seems that if you pay attention to seasonal produce gathering and eating you will have fruit all year long without fail. The season begins here with our rhubarb in May and until the end of June. Strawberries and currants start in about the 2nd week of June and sometimes last till the end of June. In July the raspberries start to ripen with the black ones then the red raspberries too. Then the cherries both sour and sweet right from here if you plant them yourself or from our own Door County. Gooseberries are another berry , how about blueberries , apricots, nectarines , peaches, pears, grapes and finally apples of all varieties. These and some that I have forgotten to mention here and you could be set for your whole season. Canning ,freezing, drying
