Yve’s ground round you can now buy a package of this in most groceries find it in the natural or organic section of the store . Yves is probably in the freezer..
saute ground round in a small amount of oil to keep from sticking in pan or use a non-stick pan and brown the Yve’s and then add the taco seasoning simmer with some water added to pan to meld flavors and maybe a couple of table spoons of tomato paste or ketchup to mixture and simmer till mixture is thickened.
chopped onions or sliced green onions
14 oz can of re-fried beans
shredded diaya cheese
non dairy sour cream Tofutti brand is best
corn tortilla shells warmed
make the whole meal just like you would your favorite taco meal.
to make the whole meal more filling add Mexican rice (using brown rice )
Tip: the Yve’s ground round is a good start to work on having less meat based meals. Eating plant based foods will automatically make you leaner. they contain no cholesterol and are lots lower in fat content. Start by adding some of the Yve’s to regular ground beef and keep adding less regular ground beef till the family gets used to it. Or just start with the Yve’s and add just 1/4 cup of regular beef to make the taco “meat”. You could also do this with a casserole . Any dish that is well seasoned will work. Taco, or Italian seasoning for example.
